How do I get started with ImpactPay?

See below for the Google Play or the App Store links.

  1. Download the free ImpactPay app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Create an account and register for your ImpactPay card.
  3. Your card and PIN number will be sent out to you (allow 7 business days for it to arrive).
  4. Activate your card in the ImpactPay app.
  5. To complete card set-up, the first time you use your card you will need to INSERT it at the payment terminal, select CREDIT and enter your PIN.

    Now you’re ready to Tap & Give!

Tip: It’s a good idea to change the PIN you’re given to a number you’ll easily remember. You can do this from within the app.

Can anyone get an ImpactPay prepaid debit card?

You must be an Australian resident, 18 years or over to apply for an ImpactPay Card.

How much does ImpactPay cost?

The ImpactPay prepaid debit card has no monthly fees* for students with a valid edu.au email address. For non-students, there is a $1.49 monthly fee.

Our aim is to make giving effortless and accessible to everyone. With that in mind, we’ve aimed to keep any costs to a minimum, while still bringing the smarts of the digital wallet technology and easy micro-giving to our tribe. We’ll endeavour to bring the cost down even further as we grow.

Is my money safe?

While we're new we have some big names behind us. The ImpactPay prepaid debit card is powered by Mastercard and all payments are processed by EML Payment Solutions Limited (ABN 30 131 436 532), a PCI DSS accredited transaction processor – the highest level of certification for handling card payments.

The app is showing I need to activate my card – how do I do this?

When your ImpactPay card arrives in the mail you will find instructions on activating your card. If you have any issues you can contact us via Live Chat Support in the app.

Can I support more than one project?

Yes, you can support up to two projects at one time. A Charity project, a Community project, or one of each. Community projects are found under “My Community” in the Causes section of the app.

What’s the difference?

My Charity projects: As the name suggests, these are projects that belong to public charitable causes which are DGR registered. We have plenty of amazing causes on the platform and more will be added over time. We’ll be announcing new partners on our social channels - Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

My Community projects: These are all our local community causes. Here we’ll promote fundraising projects for the local footy clubs, community groups, churches, and schools.

Can I nominate my community project? And how does ImpactPay help?

Yes, we encourage anyone who is championing a local project which needs help with funding to reach out.

ImpactPay encourages community members to rally together and support the community project with all their daily tap-and-go transactions.

What if a cause I want to support is not on the platform?

Tell us! As ImpactPay grows, our selection of causes will grow, so let us know what causes you're passionate about. If you’re a charity and would like to know more about partnering with ImpactPay, we would love to hear from you.

Is it really just 10 cents per tap?

ImpactPay puts you in control of your giving and gives you flexibility around how much you give. The minimum amount per tap is just 10 cents, but you can choose whatever amount you’re comfortable with and you can up your give per tap at any time.

Do I have to donate with every transaction?

Giving something small with every transaction is core to our philosophy. So yes, every time you tap with ImpactPay, you’ll be donating!

It’s an amazing feeling to tap and know you’re doing something good in the world. We know as soon as you start, you’ll only want to be tapping with ImpactPay.

Are my donations tax deductible?

In general, our understanding is that if the charity you're donating to is registered Deductible Gift Recipients (DGR), then if you make donations to that charity, no matter how small each one is, when combined together they total to more than $2 being donated to that charity in a single tax year, then all of those donations for that charity will all be tax deductible. This applies to each charity on a charity by charity case ie it is our understanding that you can not combine your giving across a few charities ( ie $1 to one, $0.50 to another and $0.50 to a third) to reach the $2 minimum threshold.*

How do I claim tax back on my ImpactPay donations?

At the end of the financial year, ImpactPay makes tax time simple by providing a digital receipt for all your tax-deductible donations made through the platform.
